Job Summary:The EVSE Engineering and Design Manager will play a critical role within the EVSE planning team. They will support the greater EVSE team by ensuring project design, engineering, and implementation standards are in place, second nature to the team, and adhered to in the field. Additionally, they will manage a team of engineering technicians who will support the EVSE team in creating site designs overlaid on satellite imagery to include chargers, conduit size for each run, wire size for each run, panel sizes, disconnects, and step down transformers.
Primary Responsibilities:Create design, engineering, and implementation standards for all new programs ensuring uniformity throughout all programs and installations. Regularly revise standards to ensure cost effective implementations of the highest quality, considering new market trends and technology. Review peak load calculations to ensure project capacity. Specify appropriate gear to support implementation based on equipment and program requirements. Oversee outsource engineering and PE stamp processes. Adhere to engineering standards and specifications. Manage a team of engineering technicians who will focus on preparing site plans for the bid team. Ensure new power designs are integrated to site plans. Actively participates on internal team(s) that focuses on continuous improvement of the business. Maintain near real time data entry into project management tool to ensure customer and team visibility. Mentor, train, and develop the engineering and design team with leadership and vision. Provide planning and projects team training and ongoing support regarding design, engineering, and implementation standards. Maintain KPI’s consistent with the goals of the program, adjusting strategy where appropriate based on feedback from the projects team.
Job Specifications:Education: Bachelors degree in Engineering required. Experience: Electrical system design experience required, EVSE design projects (L2/DC) preferred. Experience specifying design, engineering, and implementation standards across a portfolio of projects preferred.
