Distribution Operations Manager

Job Description: Shipping and Operations ManagerResponsibilities:Shipping Operations:Oversee all procedures related to picking, packing, shipping, and receiving. Handle high-end clientele with meticulous attention to detail. Process, print, and review orders and labels using UPS WorldShip. Collaborate with internal departments like operations, accounting, and sales to ensure accurate and timely order fulfillment. Shipping/Freight Coordination:Coordinate shipping processes, including scheduling, document preparation, and transportation arrangements. Communicate with carriers, freight forwarders, and customs brokers for transportation coordination. Inventory Management:Maintain and control inventory levels, conducting routine inventory counts. Implement continuous improvement practices for accurate inventory reporting and reconciliation. Resolve shipping-related issues like damaged goods, delays, and returns; manage inventory returns upon client request. Labor Management:Supervise the warehouse team, including temporary labor for seasonal and high-volume shipping projects. Operations Improvement:Design and execute warehouse operations systems, workflows, and action plans to meet productivity, quality, and customer service goals. Customer Service Support:Foster and manage client relationships to ensure satisfaction and loyalty. Requirements:Minimum age of 18 years. High school diploma or GED.Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy. Strong organizational and communication skills. Ability to multitask and take direction from multiple sources. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook; familiarity with UPS WorldShip is a plus. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Physically capable of significant walking, bending, standing on concrete floors, reaching, pulling, pushing, gripping, and lifting up to 50lbs. Forklift certification required within 90 days of employment.
