Medical Coder

We are currently seeking a dedicated and self-motivated Medical Coder to join our team. The medical coder will report directly to the Coding Manager. The coder will be responsible for the timely abstraction of clinical information to ensure the correct code assignment from a variety of EMRs and multiple client accounts using ICD-10 DX, PCS, CPT, and HCPCS following the most current and up to-date coding conventions and guidelines.

Required Key Skills:CPC and/or CCS certification required. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. Familiarity with all coding conventions and guidelines. Facility & Pro-fee coding experience. ICD-10 DX, PCS, CPT, and HCPC experience. Understanding of modifiers and their usage. Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, clinical procedures, and diseases. Understanding of clinical documentation (medical records) and how to abstract the information for the assignment of codes. Maintain strict confidentiality, adhering to all HIPAA guidelines/regulations with private space to work. Excel Spreadsheet familiarity. Willingness to learn and work from coding databases such as CPSI, Athena, etc. Review/Analyze medical records to assure that it has been appropriately and adequately analyzed and flagged for assistance in the completion of the medical record. Maintain or exceed established coding accuracy and productivity standards. Assist Clients, Billing, and AR Teams with coding-related inquiries within expected timeframes. Knowledge of charging practices and charge master rules (pricing, coding, etc.) preferred.

Pay: From $94,600 - $126,000 Annually
