📋 Role Overview & Responsibilities
JOB DESCRIPTION:The primary function of this position is to support the stable operation of the in-house computer network. This includes planning, designing, installing, configuring, maintaining, and optimizing all network hardware, software, and communication links while ensuring minimal network downtime. The person will also diagnose, resolve, and document hardware and software network problems and provide user training and support where required.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:Support development and implementation of networking projects and new technology installations. Maintain all network hardware and equipment, including routers, switches, and UPSs. Receive and respond to incoming calls, messages, and/or emails regarding network connectivity problems. Remains on-call to respond to emergency network outages. Recommend, schedule, and perform network improvements, upgrades, and repairs. Inter-plant travel to provide support as needed.
EDUCATION/SKILLREQUIREMENTS:College degree in the field of computer science preferred. Certifications in Microsoft, Cisco, VMware preferred. Minimum of 1-3 years of network support experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment. Working technical knowledge of server and desktop operating systems, including Microsoft Windows Server and Microsoft Windows 10. Self-motivated, self-directed, data-driven, and detail-oriented. Advanced problem-solving and work prioritization abilities. Strong written and oral communication skills.
