Our client - a leading healthcare company - is seeking a Senior Microbiologist to join their team. The Senior Scientist will support new product development, methods, claims, and technology within Consumer Health.
Type: Direct hire
Location: Henrico County, VA
Responsibilities
- Manage mid to high complexity R&D projects in Microbiology, incorporating Quality by Design (QbD) principles and regulatory requirements.
- Develop microbiology test plans using Design of Experiments (DoE) principles and generate data packages for new product launches.
- Identify innovative capabilities to support new microbiological claims and ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and compendial guidance.
- Conduct risk assessments, provide regulatory expertise, and implement CAPA for microbiology control systems.
- Collaborate with R&D and manufacturing stakeholders, provide technical input, and mentor junior team members.
Requirements
Master's degree in Microbiology or related field. PhD preferred. 5 years of experience in Microbiology laboratory work with independent experiment design. Familiarity with compendial methodologies (USP, EP, JP) and product development processes. Proficient in information technology with strong communication skills. Ability to work independently, influence, and collaborate effectively across functions.
