Where the chemistry happens…

The Production Supervisor manages the safe and efficient day-to-day operation of Production area personnel through active engagement of employees via BASF’s four strategic pillars: EHS, Quality, Cost of Capital, & People. The Production Supervisor is responsible for ensuring there is a minimal loss of time and material during each production campaign and that all work is completed safely, timely and effectively ensuring that the production schedule is achieved with minimum product quality variation from standards

During your 12-hour shift as a Production Supervisor, you will

• Understand Responsible Care and Quality Policies performing job responsibilities safely by following documented work as well as provide Leadership, Development & Guidance to Production Shift Operators & BASF PLS Team Leads.
• Interface daily with Production Engineers and Maintenance to support the production plan and manage any changes to the production plan during Day-to-Day Operations and Off-Hours.
• Coach and mentor Operators on shift relief, shift report, and start of shift orientation rounds.
• Ensure Operator Rounds in the field are performed effectively & all regulatory inspection as well as ensure safety or production threats are escalated to the proper levels in the organization.
• Coordinate Operation resources to Support & facilitate Maintenance and I&E jobs and support Supply Chain Distribution Coordinators for Raw Materials Receiving and Logistic.
• Assist EH&S in the development, and or implementation of EH&S procedures as needed to address changes in regulations.

If you...

HS Diploma or equivalent required. 3-4 years of experience in a leadership role in a chemical plant or related. Possess experience and operating knowledge with DCS preferred. Have strong leadership skills to direct technicians to produce quality chemicals in a safe and cost-effective manner. Process knowledge and/or first line supervisory experience. Possess solid communication skills, both verbal and written.
