Our client, a prominent player in the real estate financing sector, specializing in hard money lending for residential properties is seeking Controller to lead our financial department. This pivotal role requires expertise in real estate financing and hands-on experience in establishing, managing, and refining financial operations. The ideal candidate will build and lead a capable team while architecting financial strategies from the ground up.

The RoleAssume full responsibility for the establishment and oversight of the company's accounting and financial operations, ensuring adherence to GAAP and regulatory compliance. Design and implement robust financial and accounting systems, processes, controls, and policies to support the company's growth and operational efficiency. Spearhead the annual budgeting and strategic financial planning processes, working closely with the executive team to forecast and track financial performance. Develop and manage a finance and accounting team tailored to support the company's strategic objectives and operational needs. Create comprehensive financial reports and analyses to guide decision-making and strategy development. Oversee the management and reporting of capital raising activities, including investor relations and compliance with financial regulations. Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA or Master’s degree strongly preferred. Minimum 5 years of experience in a senior financial management role within the hard money lending industry. Demonstrated expertise in setting up and managing financial departments, including team building, process development, and systems implementation. Proficiency in financial modeling, analysis, and reporting with a deep understanding of GAAP and financial principles. Experience with capital raising activities and investor relations is highly desirable. Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, capable of fostering strong internal and external relationships.
