📋 Role Overview & Responsibilities
Our client is a large alternative asset manager and SEC-registered investment adviser. They are seeking a Portfolio Analyst to sit with their team in Los Angeles, CA. The professional in this role will be responsible for a wide variety of portfolio-level reporting and analytics.
RESPONSIBILITIESAssist in the implementation and ongoing maintenance of a database of portfolio company and fund level informationOngoing portfolio-level reporting and risk analysis for both internal and external distribution (monthly dashboards, credit facility reporting, etc.)Liaise with borrowers, administrative agents and internal accountants to facilitate funding and closing of transactionsReview portfolio company financial statements. Perform analysis of financial performance, loan covenants and other credit statisticsPrepare monthly and quarterly financial review packages of loan investments utilizing company prepared financial statements and internal reporting and valuation modelsPrepare allocation analysis and allocation workbooks across several funding vehicles and ensure compliance with the governing documents of each vehicleParticipate in a wide variety of special projects and ad-hoc reports including investor requests and fundraising materials
QUALIFICATIONSBachelor’s degree in accounting/finance/economics/math/computer science (or related degree)1-3 years of relevant industry experience. Public accounting, investment banking experience and/or formal credit training is preferredKnowledge of loan terms and structures, credit documentation, and financial statement analysisAdvanced Excel skillsExceptional quantitative and modeling skills. Ability to conceptualize and learn complex financial dataStrong attention to detail with the ability to synthesize multiple sources of informationAbility to manage multiple projects and work well under pressureAdherence to strict reporting deadlinesAbility to work cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of employees and managementTeam playerStrong work ethic and a diligent, responsible personality
