This position reports to the lead histotechnologist of the histology laboratory, Division of Surgical Pathology. This individual will possess the theoretical and practical expertise to support the operations of a busy histology laboratory. The incumbent maybe asked to assist with short-term and long-term strategic operational planning of a high complexity histology laboratory. They must demonstrate behavioral skills that contribute to a productive work environment within a team approach and provide excellent customer service to the faculty and staff of City of Hope National Cancer Center to improve patient outcomes.
As a successful candidate, you will
- Troubleshoot technical, processing, and staining issues.
- Assist in laboratory maintenance for State, CMS, and CAP inspections, including SOP writing and inspection participation.
- Develop new laboratory procedures.
- Manage laboratory inventory and supplies based on LEAN/six sigma principlesPossess the skill sets to work within an Electronic LIS
Your qualifications should include
Associates degree Completion of a certified clinical program in medical laboratory sciences in histopathology or equivalent education /years of experience. ASCP HT or HTL
