Class B CDL Driver Trainee

Job Description

Safety-Kleen in Independence, MO is seeking a Class B CDL Driver Trainee. This role will train to drive a Class B box truck to provide onsite service for parts washer machines, pick up containerized hazardous waste, and sell products/services in a defined route. Safety-Kleen will pay for you to obtain your CDL.

Home Daily. Monday through Friday, average start time between 6-7 am, typically an 8-10 hr. day. Overtime after 40 hrs.

Responsibilities

Ensure Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes and always acting in a safe mannerComplete daily scheduled services, deliveries, and pickups in a timely mannerSwitch out 15- & 30-gallon drums of solutions at customer locationsCompletes all required documentation and labelingGenerates / collects leads from customers for new products and servicesSells additional products and services into existing accountsFollow all local, state (provincial) and federal compliance regulations and rulesSafely operate vehicles in accordance with U.S. DOT, local, state (provincial) and federal requirementsSafely observe all corporate operating guidelines and proceduresObserve all company environmental health and safety operating guidelinesPerform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Obtain a CDL B within 180 days of employment (company paid)Obtain Hazmat and Tanker endorsement within 30 days of CDL BAbility to work independently while managing time and productivityBasic computer and math skillsGood written and verbal communication skillsProblem solving skills Perform physical functions per job requirementsSuccessfully complete a background check, drug test, and physical, by position

Preferred Qualifications

Strong customer service skillsCommercial route driving experience (Class C or non-CDL)
