DataStaff, Inc. is seeking a Senior Linux System Administrator for a long-term contract opportunity with one of our direct clients in Durham, NC.
- This position is hybrid*This position is required to be on call for evenings and weekends to meet business needs.
Responsibilities:Implementation and operational support of Applications on AWS/Hybrid cloud. Install and configure the Linux operating system as well as manage and maintain Linux-based systems on the Amazon Web Services (AWS) platform. Deployment, configuration, and ongoing maintenance of AWS services such as EC2, S3, RDS, and more. System maintenance by reviewing error logs, system backups, monitoring system performance to prevent slowdowns and disruptions, License deployments and setup, may include setting up a Linux Satellite server and deployment manager, and providing any needed technical support. Provide hands-on technical support for system security monitoring and optimizing the performance of these systems, as well as troubleshooting and resolving any issues that may arise. Managing and maintaining other related technologies such as DDI (DNS, DHCP, and IPAM). Strong knowledge of Linux administration, AWS, and networking are required for this role.
Required Skills:7 Years - Strong experience with Linux administration experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux: RHEL7 Years - Strong Experience with monitoring and troubleshooting Linux systems and applications7 Years - Experience with Linux OS Patch (including taking snapshots of instances before applying updates), upgrade3 Years - Strong experience with Image Management using Redhat Image3 Years - Proficient with network tools such as Firewall, Linux IPVS, HAProxy, etc2 Years - Experience in installing, configuring, and maintaining services such as Bind, Apache, nginx, MYsql etc3 Years - Strong experience with Cookie Security, Web Browser Security, Server side encryptions, Data Encryption at Rest and Key management3 Years - Hands-on experience in performance monitoring enablement to manage the Scaling up and down of the environments5 Years - Strong scripting skills, specifically in Bash or Python5 Years - Experience in user account management for large organizationLinux certifications (RHCT, RHCE and LPIC) will be considered an advantage
Desired Skills: 2 Years - Experience with cloud infrastructure, specifically Amazon Web Services (AWS) like EC2, S3, RDS, ELB, SSM and EBS.2 Years - Good understanding of networking concepts, including VPCs, subnets, and routine2 Years - Experience with automation and configuration management tools such as Ansible, Cloudformation, Puppet, or Chef
This opportunity is available as a corp-to-corp or a W2 position with a competitive benefits package.
