Engineered Software Products, Inc. (ESP), an Atlanta-based system integrator, has an immediate opening for an entry level automation project engineer. Position requires BSEE or BSCSE. The individual must be able to learn PLC and HMI systems, especially AB/Rockwell, Ignition and Wonderware.
The position will require the individual to work under an experienced project engineer on projects in a wide range of industries. Tasks will include electrical layout (some CAD), PLC and HMI programming, commissioning and project documentation.
Most of our work involves PLC and HMI systems with a strong database and information management component. The individual should have a good working knowledge of databases. Industries served are mostly process control (chemical, cement and aggregates, food & beverage).
Project work is mostly in the southeast, but includes a substantial base throughout the country and even some overseas. The position will require 20-25%% travel, mostly for commissioning of control systems and on-site engineering tasks that cannot be accomplished from our office.
The individual must possess good design and organizational skills and must be thorough and methodical in the design tasks. ESP has developed certain standards and methodology to insure excellent customer satisfaction and support, and the projects that are developed by ESP will follow these standards.
The position requires good interpersonal communications skills, as the project engineer will be the front-line interface to the customer.
