Job title: Senior Data Engineer (Databricks Platform Modernization)

Must Have Skills/Tech: 7-10 years experience
Hands-on experience with Databricks and Azure , including implementation using Unity Catalog . Experience in platform modernization projects and implementation. Deep understanding of components of data and analytics (building data platforms, data platform management, data extraction, ETL/ELT, data security, and data/insight reporting) Lead and facilitate technical conversations with team and cross collaboration teams
Job Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, and optimization of Cencora’s cloud Data & Analytics platform, collaborating with cross-functional teams throughout all phases of data ingestion.
- Evaluate and integrate software technologies into our modern platform, ensuring compatibility, scalability, and performance while leveraging configurable self-service tools.
- Facilitate technical discussions and mentor junior team members to drive informed decisions, design scalable architectures, and enhance data solutions.
- Document technical conversations, architectural decisions, and best practices to ensure alignment and enable knowledge sharing across teams.
- Research and explore emerging features and technologies in the data and analytics space, identifying opportunities for innovation and improvement.
- Conduct hands-on evaluation and testing of tools and technologies, including Databricks and Azure , to support data platform management, data extraction, UI/UX presentation, and generative AI.
- Collaborate with delivery and platform teams to implement architectural strategies, design solutions, and ensure successful project outcomes.
- Evaluate, propose, and implement data writing solutions using tools like Power BI, ensuring data governance, security, and compliance requirements are met.
Required Skills and Qualifications
7-10 years of proven experience in Data Engineering roles, with a strong understanding of Data and Analytics components. Expertise in cloud platforms, particularly Databricks and Azure , with hands-on experience in architecting and implementing data solutions. Proficiency in data platform management, data extraction, UI/UX presentation, and generative AI, with a strong technical background in data ops and data governance. Ability to lead technical discussions, mentor junior team members, document decisions, and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Proactive, independent, and self-motivated with a natural curiosity and desire to explore emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
