The role

G-Research’s Infrastructure group is seeking an AWS Cloud Engineer, specializing in Cloud Networking, to join its rapidly expanding global team based in Dallas.

As an AWS Cloud Networking Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our global network infrastructure within AWS. This crucial role aims to ensure high availability and robust connectivity across our network, supporting the company's operational needs and strategic goals.

Key responsibilities of the role include:Being the in-house subject matter expert on AWS NetworkingDesigning scalable, reliable, and secure network architectures within the AWS ecosystemCollaborating with security teams to enforce network security measures and ensure compliance with internal policiesCollaborating with consumer teams to design and develop network patterns based on application requirementsAutomating network deployments and operations using scripting languages, such as Python, and infrastructure as code tools, such as AWS CloudFormation and TerraformRegularly assessing network performance, address bottlenecks, and provide solutions for network optimizationDeveloping and maintaining disaster recovery strategies and participating in regular DR testing to ensure a rapid response to network outages and failuresMonitoring network costs and implementing cost-saving measures where possible to optimize spendingStaying informed about AWS networking updates and service offerings, reporting back recommendations to stakeholders

Who are we looking for?

The ideal candidate will have the following skills and experience:3+ years of experience in cloud networking, with a focus on AWSExpertise in at least one programming language, such as Python or GolangExpertise in infrastructure as code tooling; at least one of Terraform, Cloudformation or AnsibleExperience in configuring Palo Alto firewalls is desirableStrong proficiency in AWS networking tools and services, including VPCs, Direct Connect, Private link, Transit Gateway and Route53Solid understanding of cloud computing principles, architectures, and services offered by AWSExperience working in cross-functional teams and collaborating with stakeholders across different departmentsExcellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex ideas and findings to technical and non-technical audiencesProven ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple projects simultaneouslyAWS certification(s), such as AWS Certified Advanced Networking, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, or AWS Certified SysOps Administrator is highly desirableExperience with CloudWan is also highly desirable
