Director of Development

Guidelines International Ministries is seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to lead and manage the organization's fundraising efforts as Director of Development. This person will play a critical role in supporting the organization's mission of shining the light of the Gospel in places of spiritual darkness through radio messages that encourage, equip, and bring hope to the unreached, and those living under religious persecution.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record of successful fundraising and donor relationship management, with experience in major gift solicitation, grantmaking, and event planning. Reporting directly to the CEO, the Director of Development will be responsible for organizational philanthropy. The DOD will be someone who can serve as both a key strategist and action-focused implementer, setting strategy for revenue functions within the ministry, including campaigns, major donor engagement, mid- and mass-level fundraising, and events while working closely with the Director of Marketing & Communications on digital strategies. The DOD will be results-oriented, resourceful, energetic, and creative with exceptional interpersonal and organizational skills.

Key Responsibilities

• In support of the CEO, develop annual revenue goals and plans to diversify and increase the organizational budget through a comprehensive development strategy that ladders up to Guidelines 3-year strategic stewardship plan.
• This includes foundation and individual donors (major donors, smaller-level donors, online, etc.), as well as other appropriate sources.
• Develop and implement a strategy to strengthen relationships with existing donors.
• This may include but is not limited to, written communication, calls, personal visits, events, donor meetings with the CEO, etc.
• Develop and implement campaign fundraising priorities, gift income goals, and strategies to achieve them.
• Establish, monitor, and closely evaluate campaign benchmarks and dashboard indicators.
• Establish a balanced mix of donor sources and fundraising programs to attract and retain donors.
• Oversee the stewardship, gift accounting, and reporting functions, ensuring that all donors receive personal and timely acknowledgment of their gifts.
• Oversee the management of the donor database.
• Create funding proposals, direct mail letters, special event materials, and other fundraising support documentation as appropriate.
• Prepare development reports including plans, accomplishments, and challenges for the CEO and Board meetings.
