Research Associate will join the Trait Discovery Mass Spectrometry (TDMS) team. You'll be integral in utilizing enzymatic digestions, liquid chromatography, and mass spectrometry for protein identification and quantification. Your responsibilities will include lab reagent preparation, sample extractions, protein determinations, enzymatic digestions, and ensuring timely and quality results for our clients
Research Associate Responsibilities
- Ensure that all materials necessary for production are prepared properly, on time, and in a safe manner.
- Perform routine lab support tasks including the following: Solution preparation General lab cleaning/maintenance Lab supply inventory Equipment and assays operation Perform sample extraction, total protein quantitation, and enzymatic digestion.
- Assist in the loading and running of digested samples onto chromatography and mass spectrometry systems.
- Troubleshoot processes as needed.
- Promotion of a safe working environment.
- Continually look for process improvement opportunities and help the team to implement solutions.
Research Associate Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, biology or equivalent amounts of relevant education and experience. Strong wet-lab skills. Ability to work well with teams as well as independently. Attention to detail and ability to stay focused. Experience with problem identification, problem solving and process improvement. Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and committed to personal/technical growth. Must have excellent written, oral, and organizational skills.
Research Associate Preferred Qualifications
Experience in protein analysis. Knowledge of mass spectrometry and database maintenance. Familiarity with high-performance liquid chromatography.
