Job Purpose

The New York Stock Exchange, a subsidiary of Intercontinental Exchange, Inc. (ICE) presents a great opportunity for a full-time Lead Cloud Engineer to join a team responsible for managing the NYSE LaunchPad Lab and to work with cutting edge technology.

NYSE LaunchPad is the next chapter and an innovative new program designed to help today’s entrepreneurs leverage enterprise technology expertise through a secure, cloud-based platform. It leverages the vast technical expertise that exists across ICE’s businesses. This program provides startup companies with the ability to evaluate, test, and receive actionable insights about their products, and allows them to leverage the NYSE’s unique visibility platform to share their innovations with a broad global audience.

We are looking for a candidate who has a firm grasp of emerging technologies, platforms, and applications and an ability to customize them. Extensive knowledge of cloud maintenance, and advanced industry knowledge are essential to keep us on the cutting edge. The Cloud Engineer will have an immediate and ongoing impact on growth.

This position requires technical proficiency/problem solving, an eager attitude, professionalism, and solid communication skills.

Responsibilities

At the direction of management, develop and implement technical efforts to design, build, and deploy AWS applications, including large-scale data processing, computationally intensive statistical modeling, and advanced analytics. Design, build, modify, and maintain highly scalable and fault-tolerant AWS, Azure and GCP infrastructure. Deploy, validate, and document different software as well as SAAS products in the Cloud. Socialize with various teams to go over the product evaluation reports coming out of the Lab. Ability to compare various similar software products to produce pros and cons. Interact with development teams to help implement optimized Cloud env setup. Research, identify, and implement best practices for Cloud deployment as well as various software products. Define, document, and conduct training on cloud infrastructure and software products. Educate teams on the implementation of new cloud-based initiatives, providing associated training when necessary.

Knowledge And Experience

7+ years of experience in AWS or any other Cloud platforms.7+ years of experience in setup, deployment and management of systems provisioning and configuration management frameworks such as Puppet, Chef, Docker, Terraform, CloudFormation, etc.5+ years of experience with the Linux command line, shell scripting, automation of common tasks, and configuration of system monitoring tools.5+ years of experience in Python or BASH (At least one). Knowledge and experience of automation scripts for provisioning and auto-scaling of infrastructureKnowledge of Integrated monitoring tools: Datadog, New-relic, Splunk etc. Experience of ETL pipelines and usage of Airflow is a plusExperience working in a continuous integration environmentSolid understanding of Agile development lifecycleStay up to date on all current and future AWS/GCP/Azure services and tools and provide guidance and evangelism on how best to make use of cloud infrastructure to support company growthPossess expert-level understanding of Git and software revision control and code deployment best practices; proven ability to design and develop automated code deployment scriptsEnsure accessibility, security, reliability, availability, and performance of infrastructureAble to evangelize a DevOps culture of automation, self-service, and engineering best practices to enable development teams to go from development to production with a minimum effortAWS (or any other Cloud) Certification is a plus

Schedule

This role offers work from home flexibility of up to 2 days per week.

Base Salary Range for New York Candidates

The expected base salary for this role is between 145,000 - 175,000 USD. The base salary range does not include Intercontinental Exchange’s incentive compensation. While we provide this range as general guidance, at ICE we compensate employees based on the skillset and experience of the individual.
