Mechanical Technician

Job Title: Mechanical Technician Location: Suwannee County, Live Oak, Florida Company Description: Integrated Power System (IPS) is as a local supplier of electrical, mechanical components as well as engineering services with headquarters located in North Miami, Florida providing electrical and mechanical parts and engineering services for the pharmaceutical, medical device, plastics, electronics, electrical, water and wastewater utilities, or any other industry category. IPS engineering capabilities include Regulatory Compliance, Water and Wastewater Treatment Plants Operations, Validation, Design, Quality System documentation development and implementation. Position Summary: We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Mechanical Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing mechanical systems and equipment, ensuring that they operate safely and efficiently within two water treatment and one wastewater facilities to ensure the consistent and efficient production of high-quality drinking water and wastewater discharge in compliance with federal, state, county, and Public Works Department regulatory standards. The mechanical technician will help in the maintenance and troubleshooting procedures to ensure the plants operate effectively and in compliance with regulatory requirements. Responsibilities: 1. Install, maintain, and repair mechanical systems and equipment, including machinery, pumps, blowers, compressors, piping, or any other mechanical systems.2. Perform routine inspections and testing of mechanical systems to identify and resolve issues promptly.3. Troubleshoot mechanical problems and implement effective solutions to minimize downtime.4. Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics to determine the layout and configuration of mechanical systems.5. Adhere to safety protocols and regulations to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and others.6. Collaborate with engineers, contractors, and other team members to complete projects within deadlines and budget constraints.7. Keep accurate records of work performed, including maintenance logs, inspection reports, and equipment inventory. Requirements: 1. High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a recognized apprenticeship program or vocational training in mechanical technology preferred.2. Proven experience as a Mechanical Technician or similar role, with a minimum of 3 years in the field.3. Strong knowledge of mechanical principles, including hydraulics, pneumatics, and thermodynamics.4. Proficiency in using mechanical tools and diagnostic equipment.5. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.6. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.7. Good communication and interpersonal skills.8. Valid Florida driver's license and clean driving record. Preferred Qualifications: 1. Associate degree or certification in Mechanical Engineering Technology or related field.2. Prior experience working in a water or wastewater treatment plants.3. Familiarity with computer-aided design (CAD) software. Physical Requirements: · Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.· Ability to climb stairs and ladders, and work in confined spaces.· Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
