Graphic Design Intern

Make-A-Wish North Texas offers college students and recent graduates the opportunity to gain real-world experience in a challenging yet fun and rewarding work environment. We seek a talented graphic designer who is willing to dedicate 15–20 hours per week to learn about the Make-A-Wish brand and help carry out the organization's mission.

The Marketing & Communications team plays a central role within the chapter. From preparing the development team with the materials they need to be the most effective fundraisers to telling the stories of our wish kids with the utmost respect and compassion. The goal is to spread awareness of the Make-A-Wish brand across all of our 161 Texas counties— with compelling storytelling and visuals — while rallying potential donors, volunteers, and advocates to join us in our cause.

Interns can expect to gain various skills throughout the program, including technical proficiency, networking, and relationship management through weekly projects and monthly workshops hosted by local volunteers in top industries. Summer 2024 applications are due April 30!

ResponsibilitiesThe graphic design intern will assist with day-to-day graphic design and marketing communications needs of the chapterThey will support the ideation and execution of creative concepts and strategies while bringing new ideas and innovative solutions to the tableDesign and produce a variety of visually appealing artwork for web, social media, print, and eventsEnsure all projects and assets are accurate and aligned with enterprise brand guidelines, mission, vision, and valuesResearch/gather the relevant information and creative techniques to support the design process and the execution of requests Communicate with the team and other chapter employees with transparency regarding project deadlines, status, design direction, and deliverables Assist the graphic designer with requests as directed

QualificationsHigh proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, InDesign and PhotoshopPortfolio with body of work that demonstrates aptitude for small details, photography, and clean designGood understanding of both print and digital designProficiency in Microsoft Office and TeamsExcellent attention to detail, organizational, multi-tasking, and collaboration skillsAbility to prioritize projects, meet deadlines and be able to pivot as chapter needs arise/changeMust read, write, and speak English
