About the Role
As an Animal Welfare Host, you'll be assisting our Aquarists in caring for our amazing marine and freshwater displays. From preparing diets to interacting with guests during feeding sessions, you'll play a vital role in ensuring the health and happiness of our aquatic friends. Plus, you'll have the opportunity to snorkel and dive alongside our mesmerizing underwater creatures!
Key Responsibilities Include
🌊 Providing daily care for aquatic and terrestrial animal exhibits
🐢 Interacting with guests during public animal feeds
📝 Maintaining detailed records of animal health and exhibit maintenance
👨👩👧👦 Delivering top-notch guest service and creating memorable experiences
🔧 Assisting with the maintenance and development of aquarium displays
About You
🌟 Ability to maintain a clean and organized work environment
💪 Comfortable lifting up to 30 lbs and standing for long periods
🦈 Passionate about providing the best environment for animals
🎓 Working towards a degree in Life Sciences or relevant field preferred
👩💻 Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team
Preferred Qualifications
🐬 SCUBA Open Water Certification
🏆 Previous experience in a guest service environment
📊 Knowledge of aquatic animal care and water quality parameters
Work Environment
Join us in various indoor and outdoor areas within the attraction, where you'll experience varying temperatures and floor surfaces. Occasional travel to other Merlin Entertainment Group properties may be required.
Working Pattern
Our flexible working hours include weekends, holidays, and varied shifts to accommodate our guests' needs.
Pay Range
USD $13.50/hr
