This nationally recognized, mid-size firm is growing their valuation service offering and seeking a Financial Modeling Analyst to build and enhance valuation models to support a wide range of clients and advanced valuation needs across their Portfolio Valuation team.
The Portfolio Valuation team values various securities, including debt, equity and structured securities, for investment companies (private equity, hedge funds, BDCs). Such securities may consist of illiquid investments, such as bank loans, subordinated debt, and preferred and common equity in privately-held companies, as well as structured products.
Responsibilities:Design and build financial models to support a growing Portfolio Valuation practice Use various languages, tools, and techniques including VBA code, structured references, Python, SQL, and RBacktest and ensure accuracy of modelsHelp train and support various team members in financial modeling techniques/tactics and create and maintain documentation for models
Requirements:Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Analytics, Data Analysis, Engineering, or Finance and Business AdministrationEnhanced skills using Excel, VBA (structured references), Python (Pandas, NumPy, etc), R, and/or SQL Strong communication skills and the ability to put technical topics into Layman’s terms
