Job Description: We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer to play a key role in scaling out our enterprise payment processing system. This position involves designing and implementing large-scale data processing solutions using cutting-edge technologies in Python, AWS services like EMR, Redshift, and Spark. You will work closely with a team of skilled engineers, product managers, and data scientists to build a robust system capable of handling high volumes and high transaction rates with utmost reliability and trust. Responsibilities:Lead the design, development, and maintenance of scalable data pipelines and architectures for our new payment processing system. Utilize AWS cloud services such as EMR, Redshift, and Spark to build and optimize big data solutions. Write clean, efficient, and well-documented Python code to process large datasets. Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into technical specifications. Ensure data integrity and system reliability by implementing best practices in data security and quality. Optimize data retrieval and develop dashboards for data analytics and monitoring. Mentor junior engineers and promote a culture of technical excellence and innovation. Requirements:Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. Minimum of 5 years of experience in data engineering, specifically with high volume, high transaction systems. Expertise in Python and big data technologies such as Apache Spark. Strong experience with AWS cloud services, including EMR, Redshift, and other data processing technologies. Proven ability to architect and scale high-availability systems from scratch. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment. Preferred Qualifications:Experience in the payments industry or financial services. Knowledge of additional programming languages or data processing frameworks. Experience in building systems designed for financial transactions with a focus on security and trust.
