Structural Designer Packaging

Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage complete packaging development process, including the creation of packaging layouts, prototype development, performance testing, supplier selection and flawless launch execution with both internal operations and external suppliers. Troubleshoot new and existing packaging problems involving designs, materials and processes and provide creative, timely and cost effective solutions. Analyze drawings and specifications of product to determine best production method 2. Must have a solid understanding of CAD drawings 3. Form strategic partnerships with suppliers, distributors, operations and customers, creating communication channels for critical information and operational improvement. 4. Must have the ability to multi-task and manage several projects in parallel, be productive in small cross-functional global teams where self-sufficiency is paramount. 5. Work closely with estimators, sales teams and production to achieve results. 6. Identify and implement cost savings initiatives related to packaging materials, labor and efficiency

Qualifications: Minimum of 3-5 years of industry experience in printing and packaging Excellent written and oral communication skills, able to articulate issues, solutions along with paths to success. Knowledge of drafting and specification standards to create production-ready documentation. Proficient with CAD software design tools. Demonstrated team player in a cross functional, cross cultural global environment and able to drive consensus solutions. Must be autonomous, responsible, reliable, and self-motivated. Drive to learn new processes and perform at a high level is essential. Strong analytical problem solving ability required. Good oral and written communication skills required with attention to details critical.
