Senior Engineer (Kick Off Call held 12/12)

100% onsite in Spartanburg, SC- no option for hybrid or remote work

Must be US Citizen

Possible travel to ***, WI, less than 5%

Must have past experience with heavy equipment manufacturing, Windchill and CATIA

Interview Process: 1 round of phone screen, 2nd round onsite or video

I would also consider filling this position with an electrical engineering background (BSEE) with experience in hands on electrical troubleshoot.

High Voltage BEV experience would be a plus but not required.

Automotive software programming/CAN network analysis also a plus but not required.

CATIA experience is not 100% required for either a mechanical or electrical candidate. There will be no CAD design work with this position. Only need the ability to navigate CAD to aid in troubleshooting.

• The Sr Engineer Mechanical designs functional, reliable and cost effective, heavy duty vehicle components.
• Perform engineering analysis and design or re-design, and development of components into existing and new vehicles.
• Provide integration and execution support for vehicle and component design.

Your Impact

Under supervision, perform engineering calculations, investigations, and tasks as assigned according to *** as well as general industry engineering standards and processes.

Support more senior engineers in the preparation of plans, designs, computation methods, and/or reporting.

Responsible for a project or part of a project of limited complexity.

May be responsible for managing multiple projects.

Collaborate as needed with other engineering or business support disciplines internally as well as suppliers externally.

Provide guidance or mentorship to entry level engineers, designers, or technicians working on a common project.

Maintain effective communication with suppliers, internal and external customers, and outside resources concerning technical issues.

Enforce the proper use of engineering criteria and drawing standards. Ensure that technical issues are conducted within the framework of company policies and procedures.

Evaluate designs for performance, safety, and reliability.

Perform and Directs preparation of layouts, drawings, specifications, and bills of material.

Perform engineering analysis to support the selection of parts, components, and materials that meet requirements.

Provide technical assistance for production support.

Analyze and resolve issues reported to Engineering via verbal or written communication.

Prepare technical proposals, quotations, reports, and presentations.

Create and maintain project documentation for analysis, research, and historical records.

Utilize analytical and mathematical approaches to calculate or model system performance and optimize designs.

Analyze and resolve issues reported to Engineering and communicate status via verbal or written communication.

Other duties as assigned.

Regular attendance is required.

Minimum Qualifications

Accredited Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field with three (3) or more years of related experience.

Standout Qualifications

Accredited Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.

Mechanical knowledge of automotive or heavy-vehicle equipment and related systems.

Experience with a high level CAD system.
