Posting DetailsNew Mexico Department of Workforce Solutions administers the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA). The WIOA assists job seekers with accessing employment, education, training, and support services they need to meet employers¿ requirements and succeed in our labor market.

Why does the job exist?The Statewide Youth Coordinator is responsible for ensuring compliance with state and federal statute, regulation and policy requirements for the implementation of services and programs specifically designed for youth. This position will provide technical assistance and training to the Local Workforce Development Boards and their Workforce Innovation Opportunity Act (WIOA) funded youth programs and Wagner-Peyser staff on the best and promising practices in youth engagement, strategies for strengthening coordination with youth agencies and organizations, including secondary and post-secondary programs, in effort to promote statewide awareness of the unique workforce needs of youth.

Who are the customers?Local Workforce Development Boards, Youth, Statewide Workforce Connection Offices, Statewide high schools, internal departmental staff.
Ideal CandidateExperience and knowledge of positive youth development and engagement. Working with system involved youth. Direct knowledge of community building and assets approach models.
