Piper Companies is currently seeking a Chemist I to support a reputable global food safety and quality company in Crete, IL.
Responsibilities Of The Chemist I
- Conduct various analyses, ensuring the use of appropriate methods on relevant samples while maintaining meticulous quality control records.
- Extract desired components from samples through methods like distillation, solvent extraction, and acid digestion to ascertain concentrations.
- Calculate and disclose concentrations of sample components, prepare necessary standards, and oversee the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).
- Maintain laboratory cleanliness, investigate non-conformities, review batches, and manage equipment records.
- Identify system deviations, assist in system enhancement, prioritize safety measures, and handle additional tasks as required.
Qualifications Of The Chemist I
Proficiency in instrumentation and theory (HPLC, GC, ICP, AA) is advantageous. Basic understanding of food science aids in sample chemical content analysis. Ability to pick up on new skills quickly Associates degree is a requirement; a Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
Compensation For The Chemist I
Pay Rate: $21.50/hr.6-month contract to hireComprehensive Benefits package: Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K, PTO
