Piper Health Sciences is seeking a Laboratory Technician to join an organization supporting infectious disease research in Frederick, MD. The Laboratory Technician will aid in the execution of scientific studies of infectious agents.
Responsibilities of the Laboratory Technician include
Perform conventional PCR and qRT-PCRPerform purification of nucleic acids from human blood, animal tissues, inactivated viral culturesConduct quantitation and QC of DNA and RNA samplesExecute studies by doing cell culture, qRT-PCR, nucleic acid extraction, and high-throughput sequencing
Qualifications for the Laboratory Technician include
5+ years of experience working in a microbiology or molecular biology laboratory Previous experience with PCR, ddPCR, qRT-PCR, qPCR, NGSBSL-3 experienceMust be a US citizen Bachelor of Science in Biology, Biochemistry, Chemistry, or related field
Compensation for the Laboratory Technician include
Salary Range: $37 - $42.50/hr **depending on experience**Full Benefits: Medical/Dental/Vision, 401k
