Piper Health and Sciences is actively seeking a Purification Scientist to join a biotechnology company focusing on protein engineering. This an onsite role in the greater Bedford PA area.
Responsibilities for Scientist – Protein and Antibody Purification
Troubleshoot and improve downstream processes for the purification of monoclonal and polyclonal antibodies and proteins within downstream process developmentImprove the purification and filtration process utilizing equipment and techniques including AKTA chromatography, affinity columns, nanofiltration, microfiltration, and high speed pumps Oversee labeling of antibodies, column packing, and conjugation processesLead projects from start to finish including design of experiment, scheduling, setting up, executing, troubleshooting, and writing up reportsWrite, review and revise batch records, protocols, reports and presentations
Technical Requirements for Scientist – Protein and Antibody Purification:
Minimum 3 years of hands on experience with protein and antibody purification, downstream manufacturing and process development in a biopharmaceutical environmentStrong background with affinity columns and chromatography systemsAbility to work on 2-3 projects at a time through strong analytical and organizational skillsStrong technical writing skillsExcellent communication skills and presentation skillsBachelor’s or Master’s degree in biology, biochemistry, chemical engineering or other related field
Compensation & Benefits for Scientist – Protein and Antibody Purification
Compensation: $90,000 – $150,000, based on previous salary history and experienceFull Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, 401k, PTO, Relocation Assistance
