📋 Role Overview & Responsibilities
RK&K is hiring Transportation Engineers throughout central Florida - work from Tampa, Lakeland, or Orlando! These new positions on our team will support our continued growth. Hybrid home/office schedules and flexible work times are available.
As a Roadway Engineer with RK&K, your responsibilities will include design and analysis of transportation facilities. Projects will include, but not be limited to new roadways, widenings, resurfacings, and multimodal improvements.
Essential Functions
Design and analysis of horizontal and vertical alignmentsPrepare plan, profile, cross section, and detail sheetsDesign temporary traffic control plansCalculate quantities and prepare construction cost estimates Support preparation of design documentationSupport preparation of specifications packagesWork with other disciplines on creative solutions to design challenges
Required Education, Skills and Experience
Zero (0) to Two (2) years of experience in roadway design Working knowledge of basic roadway design principalsBachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or related fieldEngineering Intern (E.I.) license in Florida or ability to obtain within six (6) months
Preferred Education, Skills and Experience
Roadway widening or new alignment designInnovative intersection designSidewalk or shared use path design
