Software Engineer

Our client is a leader in the distribution of pharmaceutical and medical products industry. This wholesale health-supply distributor is one of three such companies in the top 20 of the Fortune 500. This specific hiring manager is looking to add a Software Engineer within the Pharma Data Integrations team. Personality, understanding the importance of collaboration, and a passion to develop IT skills outside of the work environment will be the candidate that gets this job. This is an entry level engineering role (P2) for run engineering that will operate our current state applications including triaging of alerts and managing customer subscriptions. As you grow in the role, you will become responsible for improving operations processes and workflows.

Software Engineering is responsible for designing, developing, implementing and supporting applications, systems and IT products required to achieve the company's business objectives.

Team members are able to demonstrate knowledge of the following:

Software development techniques and fluency in software languages and application programming interfaces. General understanding of hardware/software platforms including but not limited to operating systems, databases, application servers, web servers and integration technologies. Plans and executes system implementations that ensure success and minimize risk of system outages or other negative production impacts. Conceptual knowledge of architecture standards and database and operating systems. Problem solving ability that allows for effective and timely resolution of system issues including but not limited to production outages. Analyzes production system operations using tools such as monitoring, capacity analysis and outage root cause analysis to identify and drive change that ensures continuous improvement in system stability and performance. Knowledge of software development, life cycle, modeling of business processes, application design patterns, business/functional documents. Estimates to high level business requirements and provide options analysis. You love working on high performing teams, collaborating with team members and improving our ability to deliver. You are able to co-locate with the development team if needed You have a passion and proven track record for creating robust, scalable applications.

Requirements

3+ years' experience in Java, Python, and SQL.

Bachelor's Degree Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent work experience
