Summary:The Level L1/2 Sybase Administrator is a senior-level position responsible for the design, implementation, and management of databases. This role involves overseeing the database infrastructure, ensuring high availability, performance, and security. The Level 3 DBA provides technical expertise, leads database projects, and collaborates with other IT teams to deliver robust and scalable database services. DBA working experience with Sybase open source and good understanding of other RDBMS such as Sybase, Oracle and MS SQL server. Experience in Production Support with monitoringProviding L1, L2, L3 SupportExperienced in setting up Sybase clusters and supporting HA/DR solutionsStrong skills in UNIX / Linux Shell ScriptingInstall, monitor and maintain software, implement monitoring and alerting. Experience in building high-scalable clusters, failover and hot standby solutions based on Maximum available architectureExperience in architecting, configuring, setting up Enterprise Fail over manager or similar technology for High availability solution. Experience in leading efforts related to system and SQL performance tuning and assisting business process integration with various data sources. Ability to work well with development and infrastructure teams in doing database design, changes and enhancement to new and existing applicationsProven ability to provide High Availability and Disaster Recovery solutions

- Ensure integrity, availability and performance of DB2 database systems by providing technical support and maintenance.
- Monitor database performance and recommend improvements for operational efficiency.
- Assist in capacity planning, space management and data maintenance activities for database system.
- Perform database enhancement and modification as per the requirements.
- Perform database recovery and backup tasks on daily and weekly basis.
- Develop and maintain patches for database environments.
- Identify and recommend database techniques to support business needs.
- Assist in implementation of new features and program fixes in databases.
- Maintain database security and disaster recovery procedures.
- Perform troubleshooting and maintenance of multiple databases.
- Resolve any database issues in accurate and timely fashion.
- Monitor databases regularly to check for any errors such as existing locks and failed updates.
- Oversee utilization of data and log files.
- Manage database logins and permissions for users.
