Qualifications:Experience Matters: You’ll need a minimum 10 years of underwriting experience. Your expertise will be crucial in assessing risks and making informed decisions. Prior management experience is required as you will have several Underwriting Managers reporting to youEducational Background: A BA or BS degree, ideally in Economics, Business, Finance, or Accounting, will set you up for success in this role.
Responsibilities: You’ll play a pivotal role in shaping our risk portfolio. Here’s what you’ll be doing:Oversees the implementation of underwriting practices within a designated area, directing efforts to achieve underwriting objectives in specified business programs. Develops and executes sales budgets and targets for the region, including attainment of premium and loss ratio objectives, engagement in agency activities, and forecasting business growth. Assesses and guides the underwriting of complex or sizable risks requiring advanced technical expertise in product and industry knowledge. Supports the cultivation of productive agency relationships, which may involve identifying new agencies, managing appointments, fostering growth, optimizing profit sharing, and assessing agency performance.
