Overview: One of Boston's leading investment managers is looking to bring on a Senior Software Engineer to their Front-office engineering organization. Core responsibilities will include onboarding new datasets, implementing new trading signals, developing portfolio optimization tools, building data visualization frameworks, enhancing the research platform, and performance tuning existing code using efficient numerical algorithms and cluster-computing solutions.
Qualifications:5-7 YOE in Software EngineeringStrong academic record and a degree with high mathematical and computing content e.g., Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering or PhysicsExpert-level depth in Python and scientific librariesExperience working on production systems, with an understanding of best practices for testing, monitoring, and deploymentComfortable working on Linux platforms and using GitWorking knowledge of one or more relevant database technologies, such as MS SQL, Postgres, or MongoDB
Value Added (but not required):Experience in quantitative software development within a front-office setting, such as at a hedge fund, proprietary trading firm, or investment bankExperience building web applications using modern frameworks like ReactProficiency with distributed computing technologies such as Spark, Dask, Kubernetes, RedisKnowledge of modern data engineering practices including data pipeline & ETL tools, distributed storage & processing and data warehousing
