Construction Associate

Stites & Harbison, PLLC, a full-service law firm that maintains a sophisticated national construction practice, is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented attorney with at least two years of experience interested in joining our Construction Service Group team. With a strong emphasis on transactional work, we pride ourselves on delivering exceptional legal services to our clients in the construction industry. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with experience or an interest in construction law to advance their career in a supportive and collaborative environment. The associate will primarily work with a group based in the firm’s Lexington, Kentucky office.

The position involves contract negotiations and related transactional work could also include some litigation opportunities, depending on the firm’s needs and applicant’s interest. Interested candidates should possess a strong academic background and have excellent research, writing, analytical, and communication skills. A background in engineering, architecture, or the construction industry is not required but will be considered (if applicable). Responsibilities include:

Transactional Support: Assist senior attorneys in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating construction contracts, subcontracts, and other related agreements. Due Diligence: Conduct legal research and analysis to support clients in making informed decisions during the due diligence process for construction projects. Client Interaction: Develop strong working relationships with clients, understanding their unique needs, and providing legal advice that aligns with their business objectives. Document Management: Organize and manage legal documents, ensuring accuracy and compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Legal Research: Stay current on construction law developments, regulations, and industry trends to provide relevant and effective legal advice. Team Collaboration: Collaborate with other attorneys, paralegals, and staff to deliver comprehensive legal solutions to clients. Professional Development: Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities to enhance legal skills and knowledge.
