What To Expect

Tesla is currently seeking a Sr. Network Engineer to join our data center team. This role will provide network design, implementation and operational support for Tesla's datacenters.

What You'll Do

Help design and build new datacentersWork closely with other team members; help on maintaining and growing existing datacenter networksWork with Tesla’s key application teams to support their growth and provide high availability & reliability to networkRequirements gathering, analyze, and propose solution to networking needsMonitor, analyze, and report metrics of network servicesDevelop automation methods to rapidly deploy, configure and update network equipmentConduct product POC evaluationDocument network knowledge base and operational “Run-Book”Must be able to work occasional weekends, after hours, and holidays. May require unscheduled after-hours workParticipate in on call rotation

What You'll Bring

6+ years of experience in mid/large-scale global enterprise networking infrastructureExtensive experience in IP networking, L2/L3 network protocols (spanning-tree, OSPF, BGP), TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, end to end QOS, RDMA, InfiniBand, VLAN, VRRP, LACP, MC-LAG, EVPN with VXLAN, ACL and infrastructure cablingStrong Experience with Arista switches. Experience with Juniper and SONiC is additionalGood cabling & optics knowledgeExperience with various tools such as Protocol Analyzer, SNMP, flow, IPAM, RADIUS, Splunk, network taps, and load/stress testingExperience with developing scripts to automate infrastructure deployment and collect metricsBasic experience with DevOps tools and technologiesCCNP, JNCIP preferred

Expected Compensation

$104,000 - $348,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits

Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
