My client are a reputable contractor based in Somerset County, NJ, specializing in interior carpentry for commercial and retail projects.
As an Estimator, you will play a crucial role in the team, contributing to the success of projects through accurate and competitive estimates. You will collaborate with project managers and clients to ensure the successful delivery of projects.
Role Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate and competitive estimates for interior carpentry projects, including commercial and retail spaces.
- Collaborate with project managers and clients to understand project requirements and develop comprehensive estimates.
- Analyze blueprints, specifications, and other documentation to determine project scope and materials needed.
- Research and source materials from suppliers and subcontractors to ensure cost-effectiveness and quality.
- Provide ongoing support to project teams throughout the bidding and pre-construction phases.
- Assist in value engineering efforts to optimize project costs without sacrificing quality.
- Stay updated on industry trends, pricing, and market conditions to inform estimating decisions.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation related to estimates and bidding activities.
Candidate Requirements
Minimum 3 years of experience as an Estimator in commercial construction, with a focus on interior carpentry. Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and building codes. Proficiency in estimating software - particularly On Screen Takeoff. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with project teams and clients.
