Quality Engineer

Position SummaryWe are seeking an experienced Quality Engineer to join our team for a client in the Fort Worth, TX area. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality of incoming aviation materials and components by conducting onsite inspections at our suppliers' facilities.

• ResponsibilitiesConduct onsite inspections at supplier facilities to verify the quality of incoming materials and components according to established standards and specifications.
• Evaluate supplier processes and quality control procedures to identify areas for improvement and ensure compliance with our clients' quality requirements.
• Collaborate with suppliers to resolve quality issues, implement corrective actions, and prevent recurrence of non-conformances.
• Document inspection results, non-conformances, and corrective actions in detailed reports, and communicate findings to internal stakeholders.
• Work closely with the procurement team to qualify new suppliers and assess their capabilities to meet our clients' quality standards.
• Provide technical support and guidance to suppliers on quality-related matters, including inspection methods, sampling plans, and quality assurance techniques.
• Participate in supplier audits and performance reviews to assess ongoing compliance with quality requirements and drive continuous improvement.
• Stay up-to-date on industry standards, regulations, and best practices related to quality assurance and source inspection.
• Extensive travel is required for this position, as you will be visiting supplier sites regularly to perform inspections and collaborate with suppliers to maintain our high-quality standards.

QualificationsBachelor's degree in engineering, Quality Assurance, or a related field required. Minimum of 5 years of experience in quality engineering, quality assurance, or supplier quality management within the aviation or aerospace industry. Strong understanding of quality management systems, inspection techniques, and statistical process control. In-depth knowledge of aviation quality standards, regulations, and best practices (e.g., FAA regulations, AS9100, ISO 9001, EASA). Familiarity with First Article Inspections (FAIs) and the ability to conduct thorough FAI processes in compliance with industry standards. Proficiency in interpreting engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documents. Understanding of continuous improvement principles and experience implementing quality improvement initiatives. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external suppliers. Ability to travel extensively to supplier sites, both domestically and internationally, as needed. Detail-oriented mindset with strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Certification in quality management (e.g., ASQ Certified Quality Engineer or Six Sigma Green Belt) is a plus. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with quality management software systems is preferred. Applicants must be US citizens to be considered for employment.
