The Monitor Technician is responsible for effectively monitoring patients on Central Station Telemetry in Critical Care Units. Monitors adult and geriatric patients and occasionally adolescent patients. Performs clerical duties under the direction of licensed nursing personnel. Applies proper and professional communications skills between personnel within the department and to other departments. Presents a personable and professional attitude to physicians, patients, families, visitors, and co-workers.
Qualifications
Certifications: CPR - Basic Life Support issued by the American Heart Association required.
Education: High School diploma or GED required. Completion of a course in telemetry monitoring with a score of 85% required.
Experience: Previous hospital patient care experience preferred.
