In this role, you will be a member our rapidly growing Program & Project Management team. The PM team's standard is to 'manage each project like we own it'. We are unique in that we provide in-house cost management and project scheduling along with program and project management, in a fully integrated package. We are currently looking for a Project Engineer to support public works projects in Santa Cruz, CA. You will be teaming with project, program, and client leadership to provide premier higher educational and municipality facilities.

Responsibilities

Provides technical and engineering support to the client's team including Project Managers and Construction Managers. Coordinates with Architect for timely and accurate responses to requests for information. Responsible for the maintenance and distribution of current contract plans and specifications. Makes field checks on construction, demolition, rehabilitation, alteration addition or repair projects to determine compliance with job specifications, plans, and Division of the State Architect (DSA) Requirements. Documents progress of construction, demolition, rehabilitation, alteration addition or repair projects, logging photographs, daily project reports and notes as required. Assists in preparing written materials including correspondence, reports, procedures, and guidelines. Logs and tracks status of project change order proposals, field orders, and approved change orders. Maintains project files and record drawings. Logs and reviews submittals for conformance to plans and specifications. Assists in coordinating and recording minutes of meetings with project stakeholders. Assists in review of submittal procedures, RFI’s and monthly invoices.

Qualifications

BS/BA Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, or related degree. 2+ years' of professional experience in the management of complex construction projects. Prior vertical, public works project experience required. Prior experience with educational facility projects highly preferred. Experience working through the entire project life cycle. Exceptional communication skills required. Ability to present data to management in an organized manner.
