Architectural Project Manager

On-Site: Madison, WI

Overview

We are looking for experienced Architectural Project Managers who want to be a part of our dynamic team of professionals working toward bringing sustainable forestry solutions to commercial construction markets. If you have a strong background in construction project management or architecture, exceptional communication/organization skills; and a temperament for innovation, you may be the perfect candidate to join our team.

Serving the diverse needs of a cutting-edge structural round timber manufacturing company, you will contribute to our success by utilizing your project management skills to successfully move projects from sales through design and into production. You will work closely with Customers, the Design Team, VP of Operations, CEO, Sales, and Production staff; supporting and guiding work with vendors, fabricators, and clients to seamlessly deliver WholeTrees products to commercial construction projects.

What you’ll need:

5+ years of project management experience in the residential and or commercial construction industryFamiliarity with creating and reading detailed shop drawings and models, preferably in a manufacturing, fabrication, or construction environment. Ability to work independently and collaboratively as an integral team member within a dynamic design and fabrication environment. The ability to coordinate and execute multiple projects simultaneouslyA proactive personality who excels in harmonizing complexity and experience in process improvement and change managementProficiency in the basic principles and practices of structural engineering Proficient computer skills including Google Drive, Excel, Bluebeam, preferably some experience with Revit or CAD

Overarching activities

Direct shop drawing activities including creating shop drawings and managing/reviewing outsourced partner's workPrimary point of contact for all project constituentsManage projects from sale through final installationCoordinate and maintain project schedules including design, production, and jobsite deliveryCommunicate with customers, structural engineers, architects, contractors, production leadership to facilitate smooth project flowConnect daily and weekly design/engineering activity and costs to project budgetsOversee communication and activity between the Sales, Design and Production DepartmentsManage customer expectations and creatively achieve goals of multiple constituents and simultaneous projectsDirect shop drawing activities including creating shop drawings and managing/reviewing outsourced partner's work

Specific daily activities

• Manage, review, and drive the development of project plans with the design team.
• Work with the design team in collaboration with external partners to ensure concept solutions achieve the client budget and schedule parametersAssist other team members and WholeTrees employees with development of continuous evolution of process flowOrganization and execution of project contract including managing required documentation, RFI's, material submittals, reviewing project specifications, and tracking A&E drawing review and approvals.
• Track schedules and costs to ensure project successTravel to partner production facilities for Quality Control reviewsCoordinate with the Inventory PM the project material needs and track procurement with vendorsAssist estimators with estimate and quote support for pipeline project takeoffs based on architectural plan sets and client needsManage Change Orders with clients and vendorsResponsible for the organization and management of project electronic files to ensure efficient access and retrievalWeekly team meetings, in-person and remote

Compensation & Management

Salary will be commensurate with experience. After the first 90 days of full-time employment, a full benefits package will be provided including paid holidays, accrued paid time off and a health benefit package. This position will work closely with the Project Management Dept, Design Dept, Sales Dept, VP of Operations and CEO.
